Here comes the sun

Well, I must have done something right.

The sun was shining, the sky was blue and all was right with the world. We'll not mention the gale force winds, but hey, you can't have everything. What's more, it didn't involve any sacrifices or unwarranted nudity which either proves that we live in a random, godless universe or that god reads my blog. Either way, hurrah!

My mood was also improved by yet another excellent session down at the dojo. My body feels like it's been thrown around the room by three big sweaty men (and Rachel), which by a strange coincidence is more or less what we were doing. We were mainly working on the throws and disarms that we need for jitsu bits of the sword syllabus, all of which mainly ended up with me looking up the ceiling and wondering why I couldn't breath. What larks!

In other news, I've installed Ubuntu 7.10 onto a bootable 4Gb flash drive, because, well, er, because I can, dammit! It worked first time too and is deeply cool. I hereby resolve to reboot every windows pc I can get my hands on just to prove a point. Or something.

In other, other news I have a 5 litre keg of Summer Lightning in the fridge and a veggie delight pizza to look forward to, and for now I will pootle for a bit with a ginger kitteh purring contentedly on my lap. Life is good.

Try blogging for a little sunshine where I live - maybe the gods will take heed. Did you ever finish reading Angry White Pyjamas? All that throwing around reminds me of aikido - which I've heard people talk about as a "gentle" martial art and is really incredibly punishing. (I tagged along to a few classes with a friend of mine one summer.)

Yes - I did read and enjoy Angry White Pyjamas. Our classes are nowhere near as punishing as the ones that Robert Twigger went through, fortunately ... :-)
