Cy_Borg

Picking up where we left off last time, we made our way further into the plant to find the control room. Some frankly excellent hacking rolls allowed us to set the reactors to overload and repurpose the defense turrets dotted around the facility to attack anyone that wasn’t us. Sweet.

The next order of business was to set explosives in the bottling plant where the nano virus was being loaded into containers for distribution. After a moderately tough battle with some hench henchmen, all that was left was to check the remaining rooms leading off from the area, which is when things started to go south. I tried to immolate a mutated corpse to dispose of it, and accidentally breathed in some of the fumes which somehow granted me the ability to commune with the nannite gods, but at a terrible cost.

Things got even worse when we attacked by the hideously mutated form of the CEO of the whole corporation, leaving us all perilously close to death until we remembered the rocket launcher that we had been toting around the whole time. Oh well, better late than never. BLAM. CEO got fired.

A hasty escape with big Dave, the tiger, and most of our limbs as the plant simultaneously melted down and exploded. Due to a significant miscalculation on our part, this sent a large cloud of radioactive zombie nano virus particles over a large swathe of the city killing 1.4 million people and incurring a six billion credit bounty on each of our heads.

Season 1 of CY_Borg complete!

CY_Borg

Another day, another visit to Doc Joy for a refit, picking up a assignment to rescue Big Dave the doorman who was missing somewhere in the Lilypond district as well as our old friend the gene spliced rainbow tiger. We traced them to a shady cosmetics/chem engineering company that we were also tasked with levelling to ground by any means necessary.

We somehow managed to dox ourselves in the process of hacking our way in, necessitating a swift change to being a team of influencers with a hit stream called "Pimp My Tiger". A helpful receptionist gave us a guided tour while we looked for likely places to plant our explosives, we got attacked by virus mutants in the chem dome and then traced Dave/Tiger to suspicious looking containment pods. To be continued!

CY_borg

The cyber zombies were closing in, so we headed for the centre of the G0 zone. Our way was blocked by a g-lich so I hit first, only to have the damage reflected back. Ouch. Things got even spookier with caliope music playing through the trees before an epic fight with the J353y d3V1l !

CY_Borg

The case started with news reports of bodies turning up in motels, each one being found in a bath full of ice missing a different body part. This was quickly followed by a call from one of our gang, who had also just woken up in an ice bath missing a liver. A quick trip to Doc Joy for a replacement, then we went in search of the green robed cultists reported near each crime scene. Much mayhem ensued, ending with my character taking a machete to the face requiring an emergency evac and a million creds of medical debt. Go fund me, anyone?

CY_BORG

Raiding Davey Irwin's Zoo for Retired Cybernetic Animals in search of a gene spliced tiger, armed only with a can of drugged synthetic tuna. Oh, and lots of heavy weapons. Much ultraviolence ensued.

CY_Borg

I've been wanting to play CY_Borg for a while, following on from our run through Mork Borg last year. This is very much grimdark cyberpunk rather than dark fantasy, and all the genre staples are present and correct - cyberdecks, body mods, drugs, mirror shades and oodles of ultra violence.

Our band of misfit punks, hackers, goons and mechanics took a contract to repo a set of cyberlegs from a top Deathsports star. We blagged our way into the high rise arcology where he lived and endured 80 floors of elevator music on the way up. We used a nano swarm to scope out the situation, finding out there was some sort of party in progress. We had to check our heavy weapons at the door, so I helpfully left my set of vintage grenades, rigged for remote detonation.

Inside, things rapidly went from weird to gruesome as we engineered a fight, blew stuff up and did a bit of amateur surgery to recover our objective.

Cy_Borg is an excellent system - not quite as immediately deadly as Mork Borg, and with a fair bit of agency for player characters with various cool abilities (and massive debts or obligations to shady characters).

Will definitely play more of this!
