I was struck by a sudden urge to play Animal Crossing today.
I fired up the game and had a mooch around my village. As expected, there were weeds everywhere but it was strangely theraputic to wonder around tidying them up. In the process I also found three lucky four leaf clovers, one fossil and a pearl oyster on the beach. I also popped into the post office to check my savings account - 26,000 bells interest GET! My animal pals were still there, although Curly was packing to leave when I called on him. Sahara was pleased to see me, despite getting in a dig about it being ten months since we had last spoken. She even asked if she could visit and thoughtfully gave me enough time to pack away all of my geeky roleplaying games ... hmmm, is this game trying to tell me something.
I do like the Autumn colours, although I seem to have missed the acorn festival this year. Still, I had a full set of mushroom furniture from the last time, so it's not the end of the world. All in all, it really makes me want a wii version next ...
Talking of the Wii, after finishing Bioshock I went back to playing Zelda : Twilight Princess which I have resolved to play through properly before buying Phantom Hourglass. It took me a little while to get back into the flow of things, but fighting the Goron Mines boss soon reminded me of just why I love Zelda games so much. There's always those brief moments of frustration where a situation or a boss seems impossible, before the metaphorical lightbulb switches on and you realise that if you shoot *that* with an arrow, then you can grab *this* and use *the other* to trip *something* up to defeat it.
Hoorah!
