It was a beautiful late summer day.
The sun was shining and there was a touch of a breeze to stir the few clouds in the sky. I set off for Tescos to buy myself a sandwich and perhaps some fresh fruit salad as a treat. I picked up my lunch items and was browsing the other shelves when a particular display caught my eye. I did a double take, but my first glance turned out to be correct.
Christmas puddings, cakes, biscuits and other yuletide items. On sale. In September.
Good grief! There are nearly three months to go until christmas, aren't there? Why buy food items so far in advance? Perhaps there are people who are partial to a bit of christmas pudding to go with their late summer barbecues?
Oh well, I guess it's time to batten down the hatches until the new year ...

Some of us, Neil, Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day.
September the third. 34 degrees(C) outside and Costco is selling an animated santa claus display, along with some other christmas whathaveyous. For pete's sake, it isn't even after halloween yet! Will they be selling Valentine's decorations in December?
I saw it today too! Crazy.
I love three month old cake! Nice and crunchy.
Supermarkets have always started stocking Xmas stuff in September - it used to be the last job the students did before going back to university. It never used to be perishables, though, it was always wrapping paper and cards first.
