They think it's all over ...

Alicia has officially finished school today, apart from the exams that she needs to go back in for over the next three weeks. She's no longer a school pupil, come September she will be a college student. She also had a text read out on the Johnny Walker show on Radio 2 this morning and got him to play a Beatles record for her, so she was thrilled about that too.

I should feel old - I can barely remember doing my GCSEs apart from some vague memories of hot exam halls, see through pencil cases and turning papers over to start. Now my daughter is embarking on the same journey, with much the same casual confidence that I had at that age. Plus ca change and all that, I suppose.

There was a bit of drama on the way to Dudley this morning. I was not far from the office where I work when I passed by rather a lot of flashing blue lights and a cordoned off road. It turned out to be a rather nasty bus crash. It was fortunate more people weren't killed or injured in the incident.

In other news, one of my new shoes has turned out to have a badly sewn seam at the back of the heel which gave me a nasty blister walking to Tescos to get my lunchtime sandwich. Hopefully it can be swapped, as the other one was perfectly comfortable.
