Well, that's Alicia dropped off safely at Huddersfield.
We set off just before two with a car stuffed with books, cds, vinyl records, computers, bedding, clothes and assorted tat and the journey to the halls of residence only took twenty minutes or so - very easy. The car park was a bit busy, but we soon got parked right next to Alicia's block so unpacking was relatively easy once Alicia had got her key and entry code from the reception.
We then had a couple of hours helping her get set up with her internet access, got her a few bits and bobs from the shop and made sure that she'd met her next door neighbour, before leaving her to it. She's been on google chat and we've got her room telephone number, so it's not all that much different from her being upstairs in her room, really.
So, that's it - the end of one era and the beginning of a new one!

Aw, sweet! So you are empty nesters now then?
I'm sure you'll be missing her a lot!
Best wishes,
Sharon
We've still got a 13 year old boy, so a few years to go before the nest is completely empty ... :-)
Oh, right -- I've only come across references to Alicia so far on your blog.
Has your boy managed to escape the public scrutiny of your blog entries?
Until now (ha ha!).

Jamie does get the occasional mention, usually in the context of him being much better at video games than I am ... :-)
