I was enjoying my customary Sunday afternoon snooze today, when I was awoken by the heaviest rain that I can recall hearing, beating even the rain during the floods last year, albeit briefly. It eased off, so I decided to take advantage of the respite and take Barney out for a walk in the woods. However, by the time we were about halfway round our usual circuit the heavens re-opened with a vengeance and by the time we got home we both resembled a pair of drowned rats.
My top half under my rain coat was reasonably dry, as were my feet protected by my wellies but my jeans were completely soaked, necessitating a quick change into a dry pair. The rain continued, and the culvert in the field was overwhelmed flooding the end of the garden almost to the depth of my boots. The footballs in the photo are actually floating away from the submerged paved area by the fence.

Fortunately, the sun soon came out and the water drained away pretty quickly.
In other news, I have a spare invite for Jam Legend, which is social networking meets online Guitar Hero. Great fun, and surprisingly well implemented. There are only a handful of songs on there at the moment, but it looks like there is the potential for it expanding into a new way to enjoy new music. Anybody want to play along?
