Blue Skies on Mars

Well, I needed that.

A day in the sunshine, sitting outside reading a good book (the loltastic 'The Tent, the Bucket and Me' by Emma Kennedy), various cats lolling in the unexpected late September warmth, a good cup of coffee and most importantly a glimpse of some blue skies.

I hadn't really realised quite how fed up I'd been feeling over the last week or so, with gloomy weather and the looming change of job, but after seeing the HR person again on Thursday which set my mind at rest about a few things and the lift from the weather today have perked me up considerably. I'm pretty sure I'll find another job in the company that will suit me, but if it doesn't pan out then I'm due for a considerable chunk of change. We shall, as they say, see.

Jan spotted a billboard in the supermarket car park advertising some christian course that posed the rhetorical question 'If god existed, what would you ask him?' to which the answer given was 'Is this all there is?'. It made me quite cross, as you can probably guess. You are alive, against unimaginable odds, in a world that is frankly amazing. Why do you have to be so churlish as to ask for more, like some spoilt child in a toy shop asking for another present? Enjoy what you have, soak up the sunshine and get on with you life rather than wishing for the moon on a stick.
