Blimey, I'm jiggered.
Birmingham yesterday, and after yet another 3 hour drive on the way home I sat down on the bed and immediately dozed off until I was head butted awake by Frank the cat. We are implementing a sales forecasting system that I had dumped on me last Thursday and my PHB found out that the sales team were having their monthly meeting in Leeds today, so it was quick snap up there to load it on their assorted laptops, check that it worked and also crank out some user notes as well to go with it. Busy busy busy.
Still, at least I got a chance to mooch into Leeds at lunchtime for a nosy in Travelling Man (must ... resist ... D&D miniatures) and some vegetarian sushi from Little Tokyo. Nom, nom and thrice nom.
I know I've plugged it before, but today's Skepticality is well worth a listen for a fascinating interview with pioneering MD and air force Colonel Dr Harriet Hall, now better known as the "SkepDoc" from Skeptic Magazine where she regularly debunks pseudo science in alternative medicine. One quote particularly appealed to me was that "a sceptic is always to allowed to change their mind".
What else?
Oh, yes, late home again as usual, and I was left in charge of the roasting chicken in the oven whilst Jan went to visit her Dad in hospital. I pulled the shelf out to baste the bird as per instructions, and the shelf started to tip with a danger of depositing everything on the floor so without thinking I shoved it back in frazzling my thumb in the process. Youch. I got it under the cold tap sharpish, so I think I've avoided getting a blister. Still, it was worth it in the end with a nice healthy meal of chicken, properly baked potato and salad. Yum.
Finally, this story is worthy of Cute Overload at its most redonkulous - Pig in boots! :-)
