There is an apocryphal story.
Way back in the days before computer graphics and whizzy displays, weathermen were real weathermen and had to put stick on symbols on a giant map of the United Kingdom. They would have a selection of clouds, rain drops, sunshine, lightning bolts and to indicate foggy conditions the letters 'F', 'O' and 'G'. One luckless forecaster was half way through his prognostications when the letter 'F' came unstuck and he uttered the immortal apology 'Sorry about the 'F' in fog' ...
Anyhoo, that's a roundabout way of saying it's been foggy today. Not so much a Holmesian pea souper but rather more like the swirling mists of the Stephen King novella, with suggestions of squamous horrors lurking just at the boundaries of vision. The temperature stayed stubbornly on the wrong side of zero for most of the day, with only a brief burst of sunshine before the fog descended once more.
In other news, Nancy was asking what I used for reading ebooks. For a long time now, going back to when I had my Psion Revo, I've used the mobipocket reader for converting and reading files. There are viewers for most pda and computer platforms, and an excellent publisher that will take a huge variety of documents including html and pdf and do a good job of converting them into mobipocket files. You can also download newsfeeds and synchronise them to your mobile device as well. I currently use my Nokia E50 phone for reading ebooks which is an excellent way of ensuring that I have something to read with me at all times and I don't have to resort to reading the ingredients on the back of cereal packets.

I miss the weather stickers. It seemed like they had to work for their money back then.
As for books, it's got to be the traditional paper for me. I spend enough time reading screens.
I wonder if I could download them to my iPod, then? I have no idea how to put anything on my mobile phone. Thanks for the reply and tips.
