Ok, that's it.
I've had enough of the dark mornings, the overcast days and what little light there is fading before I even get out of the office. I don't care if I have to sacrifice something to some pagan god or other, or dance the wrong way round a stone circle in the nip, just as long as I can have a bit of sunshine and some blue skies for a change.
My mood wasn't helped this morning by the message on the matrix signs on the motorway as I chugged along at the heady speed of 4 miles per hour - "Warning congestion from Junction 28 to 25 from 27th of January until October 2010". What the ...? Two thousand and bleeding ten? We haven't even dug up a monolith on the moon yet, let alone gone back to Jupiter for a return visit. Three years of slow traffic on one of the busiest bits of the motorway for the dubious benefit of an extra lane which as eny fule kno will fill with traffic to absorb the extra capacity.
Still, work was good, with the demo system that I knocked together earning me several feathers in my cap, and it remains to be seen if those will translate into pennies in my pocket come salary review time. We shall see.

Oh dear :(
I'm so glad I'm not commuting up the M1 to Chesterfield any more.
I'm not so keen on the pay I get now, but at least I'm not stuck watching the grass verges grow any more.
