Beer and Curry and Baldur's Gate (Oh my!)

I toddled off to meet my friend Andrew last night to celebrate his birthday by drinking BEER and eating CURRY. Hurrah! We met in The Sheaf view and I worked my way along the beer pumps starting with an Erdinger weisse bier (served in a glass the size and shape of a flower vase), moving onto Budweiser Budvar and then a Kelham Island Blonde beer. Yum.

It was good to spend some time catching up with various folk (and I also saw Sensei John from Kobudo, out drinking with Sensei Mike and Sensei Nigel from Nottingham). It struck me that I hadn't seen most of them since the last time I'd been out for one of Andrew's birthday celebrations - where does the time go?

The curry was very nice to, although thanks to the BEER I haven't a clue where we actually went. If you can find a curry house in Heeley that does a Lamb Hyderbad (or something like that) then I can recommend it. I cadged a lift to Hillsborough and caught a taxi home from there.

Apart from a raging thirst that drove me to drink a perfectly huge glass of cola with ice cubes at six o'clock in the morning, my head was remarkably un muzzy this morning and a walk in the woods in the crisp Autumn air blew the last of the cobwebs away.

In other news, I can exclusively report that Baldur's Gate works rather well in a window in a Parallels virtual machine. Friendly Arm Inn here I come!

What kind of Mac did you run it on? I'm wondering if the MacBook will be able to handle it (with the crummy video card).

It's just a bog standard macbook with Parallels, and it runs ok for me.

Nice! Thanks. I'm glad it doesn't require the Macbook Pro or some super expensive Mac.
