Fencing and Stuff

Fencing was fun tonight.

Rachel and I picked up from where we left off last week with more work on the eight position parry sequence, this time incorporating dagger defences and more importantly building in a sequence of different voids that we will need to practice for the Adept assessment in two months time. It's a little rough and ready at the moment, but I think it will turn out to be useful training, particularly in recovering from the full incantata which we will need to do when demonstrating voids used in the context of combat. Good stuff.

Afterwards, some of us went down to the Carbrook Hall pub for a drink and a chat. The pub itself was rather nice, particularly the well designed beer garden, but the selection of drinks was disappointing and the boy racers congregating in the car park were a bit unnerving. We'll keep looking until we find a suitable venue - there are plenty of pubs in the area after all.
