What a difference a day makes

The temperature has dropped from a balmy sixteen degrees yesterday afternoon, to a chilly six or seven accompanied by a blustery wind and some persistent rain. Any bets on snow for the long bank holiday weekend to come?

Work today was busy, as per usual. We've implemented a new expense system across the whole group and my pointy haired boss has gone off on holiday for a week leaving me to field all of the questions that are all answered in the policy document helpfully posted on the company intranet. Ho hum. Also, I've got a data transfer exercise to do for the accounts system - transferring a load of accounts and balances from one of the subsidiary companies into the main database - straightforward in theory, but in practice it means checking whether the codes already exist, or if a new code needs to be set up, or if it's a duplicate supplier with a different code. I've tested it as far as I can, but I can't do the live transfer until they've finished posting for this month and then I anticipate it will be a mad panic to get it done.

Home now, and a new mix cd to listen to - hurrah!

I hope you've got a fully approved change request and a tested backout plan?
