Worms, flowers and exams

For reasons that I will not elaborate on in case you are eating your tea, we decided last night that it was time to worm Frank and Barney.

Frank currently tips the scales at nearly six kilos, so according to the chart on the packet he needs five pills in two doses. Sticking them in his mouth was a non starter, but the alternative strategy of hiding them in his food did the job and he wolfed them down with no problems. Barney was a little more reluctant to swallow the two horse pill size tablets which I eventually had to hide in some cheese, but at least he doesn't struggle - he's got a fearsome set of gnashers on him.

Even though it was a little chilly today, I am finding the sunshine on my early morning walks a great boost to my mood. There are crocuses, snowdrops and daffodils starting to peek through, and it can't be too long before the bluebells start to put in an appearance. I caught sight of a woodpecker in one of the trees this morning, and I'm sure I saw a fox disappearing into the bushes as well.

Alicia has just told us that she's got an Art GCSE exam on Monday for which she hasn't done the necessary preparation, so she's got a busy weekend in front of her. She should scrape a pass, but I think she's more bothered about her other subjects.
