Nintendo have done it again. The DS Lite is impossibly small, sleek and sexy and utterly desirable. It is almost impossible to believe that they are actually the same machines when you see an original “phat” DS next to its Lite replacement. The screens are of phenomenal quality – four brightness settings, the lowest of which is the same as the original DS, make playing in daylight a realistic option now. The d-pad feels slightly looser than the original, but a quick blast on Mario Kart shows that it is still responsive enough to do the job.
While the original was, and still is, an excellent games machine the Lite can hold its own in the company of iPods, Razrs and the like as a classic bit of modern design. Maximum and immediate gettage recommended.

I just can't work out how they've managed to squeeze everything in! The top flap is so thin and you've got this super screen and speakers as well!
