Mixing hardcore punk with reggae vocals is certainly an unlikely combination, but Bad Brains just about pull it off. One track was even recorded via phone from prison whilst the singer was doing time for dealing ganja, which is certainly committing to the bit. This is a short album - 10 tracks in 30 minutes - but it never feels rushed or as if you are being short changed.
One note of caution though - I saw references in forum posts to front man HR having made homophobic remarks about AIDS during the late 80s. There’s nothing about it on the Wikipedia page and I couldn’t hear anything like that in the lyrics on this album but usual caveats apply.
