Educating Rita

The film version of Willy Russell's play about a working class hairdresser studying for an Open University degree and being tutored by a disillusioned and alcoholic lecturer called Frank. Stellar performances from Julie Walters in the title role and Michael Caine as Frank, the only thing that marred this was the overblown musical score.
