This is the DLC for Still Wakes the Deep and is set 11 years after the catastrophe that sent the Beira D crashing beneath the waves. You play as a diver called Mhairi who is exploring the twisted remains of the rig, looking for an explanation as to the cause of the disaster, and also to resolve a personal connection to the rig. You get to explore some of the same locations as the main game, but this time from a very different perspective as the scattered habitation modules are canted at crazy angles and are covered in seaweed and rust.
The gameplay sees you swim through the wreckage, searching for clues and taking pictures to document your findings. It’s a very different experience, and diving felt very claustrophobic at times squeezing through narrow spaces trailing a fragile umbilical that is all that links you to the diving bell with a limited supply of air. The lighting is another big factor that adds to the immersion as your head torch flickers and you have to rely on eerie red flares to light the way.
I would definitely recommend buying both the main game and dlc, and playing them one after the other.
