Book three in the Slough House series, and this time our slightly grubby heroes face an attack by a Tiger Team of spivvy private sector mercenaries hired by a suspiciously Boris Johnson-esque Home Secretary trying put one over on MI-5 and climb the greasy political pole into Downing Street. Needless to say, everything goes Pete Tong rather rapidly in a plot involving the duelling first and second desk leaders of the secret service, an apparently accidental case of death by drunk driving and the UK equivalent of the X-Files archive, now stored in a secret facility underneath a derelict building site.
