No chance of snow, but it's certainly blustery out there, rattling the tiles on the roof and dislodging the felt from the roof of the shed.
Last night was Halloween, but we only got a handful of trick or treaters so we have rather a lot of sweeties left over. Oh dear, how sad, never mind - I'm sure they'll get eaten at some point. We watched the film version of 'The Dead Zone' last night and it struck me just how many top notch film directors made adaptations of Stephen King stories in the early days - David Cronenburg for this one, Brian de Palma with the excellent 'Carrie' and of course, Stanley Kubrick's 'The Shining'. I wonder why so many naff B-movies and rubbish tv mini-series were churned out after that before they started making films like 'Stand By Me', 'Shawshank Redemption' and 'Misery' again? I know that King has an awfully big back catalogue for plundering, but why the sudden loss of quality control? Great mysteries of the universe, I suppose.
Also last night I had some Halloween fun in Animal Crossing, trading my candies for spooky furniture but somehow my best plaid shirt got turned into rags and I seem to have had my fishing rod, spade and butterfly net switched for jack-in-the-box toys. Hmmmm. Nook's is closed for expansion tomorrow, so I'll have to wait until Tuesday for replacements.
I played a bit more Animal Crossing today, and then got stuck into drug wars on Gay Tony for most of the afternoon. Some classic GTA moments hijacking helicopters, intercepting convoys and breaking up deals which only ended with me getting arrested when the vehicle I was supposed to be stealing got wedged alongside a building (with dead drug dealers still inside) giving the police time to slap the old cuffs on.

Do you consider It and The Stand among the rubbish and naff? Naffness? I thought IT was fantastic, better than the book, and The Stand better than many of the movies. Love Gary Sinise, anyway.
The Stand and It were both quite good until the giant glowing hand of God and the plastic spider monster thing that would have looked fake on a 1970s episode of Doctor Who ... I rest my case.
We got no trick or treaters at all. Mr TLC inadvertantly terrified two of our very small neighbours a few years ago. No one's been since.
I hope my form like sweets.
LOL - can't really argue with that! But the casting of Annette O'Toole and Tim Curry! more than made up for the big plastic spider, for me at least.
