Well, a pretty successful weekend, all told.
I finished the first unit of M150 and it was quite straight forward. It's supposedly sixteen hours of study but I think I probably completed it in less than half that, including the optional exercises. I know things will get tougher later on, but it feels satisfying to be ahead of the game at the start.
I also had a go at the first Computer Marked Exercise, getting 12 out of 12 and also downloaded the first TMA to have a look at it and started on that as well. I was quite pleased to see a question about Turing tests and artificial intelligence, but it's only three hundred words, so I can't get too carried away at this stage.
After finishing work yesterday I had another crack at Call of Juarez and managed to win one of the quick draw duels in three attempts - I think the trick is getting your hand tucked in above your gun just as the music stops and then anticipating the bell to draw. I reached another open level too, set in the canyons and arroyos of Arizona and had a merry couple of hours hunting down outlaws, defending a farmstead against regulators and fighting off a marauding band of Apaches attacking a rail road. Excellent stuff.
I managed a walk with the dog this afternoon, crunching through the autumn leaves listening to a fascinating podcast from Speechification called Calling Hereford about the satellite communication station at Madley in Hereford which forms a vital link in the transmission of news worldwide, including raw footage from all of the world's trouble spots.
