Hanging on the telephone

Crikey, it's been a long week.

Dudley on Monday, to do some more systems handover stuff with my boss, and then news of a potentially interesting job in the Leeds office doing systems development. I rang the team leader up for a chat, and then went to see him on Wednesday and ended up being interviewed on Wednesday afternoon and then going back for a second interview on Thursday. Considering that it's the first job interview that I've been through in fifteen years I think it went reasonably well.

The major drawback is my lack of Java experience, but that it is off set by my knowledge of the business and housing systems in particular. They had promised to call me back with news today, so I was jumping every time my phone rang, but when the call came it was to say that they still hadn't reached a decision and I won't hear anything until Tuesday.

So, I'm in a strange sort of limbo, waiting on the proverbial tenterhooks for news. This job would be a good experience for me, although it will be strange being office based in Leeds again, at least until I get to a sufficient level to be able to work at home on my own on projects. If it doesn't pan out, then I'm sure something else will turn up either in the company or externally, but it would be a load off of my mind to get it settled one way or the other.
