Crikey, where does the time go?
I'm genuinely surprised that it's Thursday already, and even more surprised that it's nearly August bank holiday. What happened to the year? Blimey, I'll be collecting my pension soon, so it's a good job my pension fund seems to be reasonably healthy (global financial meltdowns notwithstanding). I felt my age tonight, but the chap I was partnered with for kobudo and ju-jitsu is actually ten years older than me, and a lot fitter, so I've got no excuses really. Plenty achieved tonight with Sensei Steve, including a proper warm up, break falls, bo vs sai, sword vs sai and most of the white belt ju-jitsu syllabus including lots of exquisitely painful shoulder and elbow locks. Lovely.
Work has been a bit more interesting than usual, as I've had a chance to play with Visual Studio as a development environment for our internal web applications for accounting systems. I've even managed to get my boss to pony up for a proper training course, so I'll be down in London for a couple of days at the start of September. Any London bloggers fancy a pint after work?
What else?
I've improved on a couple of scores in Geometry Wars 2 (scroll down for my score card doobry somewhere), but that pesky Faroon remains stubbornly ahead of me. I am really enjoying this game though - the perfect combination of synaesthesia inducing psychedelic visuals, trippy music and ludicrously addictive just-one-more-go game play. I spotted Geometry Wars : Galaxies on DS for £8.00 second hand on play.com so I bought that too, and is an excellent addition to the the canon.
