A blazing hot Saturday at the end of July, and off to Bolton Castle once more for yet another Tortuga! There were some new faces and plenty of old friends to greet with a hearty 'yaaargh!'.

... there were a few surprises
It was sweaty work running round the castle, and we were more than ready for a hearty meal prepared by ship's cooks Smoking Rum Gunn and Any Port Amber, followed by a refreshing beer or two.
Even though our crew was small in number we still managed to win a few games including running out the guns, Algonquin wrestling against restless natives, a tug of war and a smoking duel. Seaman Smurf was left with a stump for a hand at one point and I was flogged for poisoning the crew by accident.
There were five crews in contention this year and it was a hard fought contest. We found enough keys to open one of the prize chests, although we missed out on the major prize. Congratulations to Captain Badgerbeard and his team for being the winning crew, and to Single Shot Sarah for being the Dread Pirate by taking all of her crew's doubloons for her own personal booty.
Roll on Tortuga 2009!
