Yoga for cats

I was doing my Wii fit yoga early yesterday morning.

My eyes were closed and I was listening to the soothing tones of the Wii fit trainer instructing me in mellifluous tones on the finer points of the bridge pose, when I became aware of a presence.

A fishy breathed presence to be precise.

To be even more precise, it was Doris the cat looming over me and metaphorically saying "Whut are u doin on tha floor?" with a look of utter disdain on her face. She then stepped over my face (which reminds me - I must sharpen my pencils), before jumping on the chair and settling down for her daily snooze. Cats. Doncha just love them?

The inner zen calm lasted through to today, when I got stuck in my usual traffic jam (a particularly nasty accident on the M1 at Chesterfield) before arriving at the office to get stuck into a bulging in-box, and then going into my annual appraisal. At least I got some good feedback from my boss, even though a decent pay rise is looking distinctly unlikely this year. Time for some belt tightening, I fear.

Slow going on the way home as well, but that's hardly a shock, horror surprise.

My Dad has done early morning yoga for years, and occasionally has to be rescued from cats who have taken advantage of a held pose to sit on him in ways he can't reach

Word to verify: unixy

Look at a cat walking away from you, and now look at a pencil sharpener ... :-)
