I got the big data load through.
About sixty thousand transactions, split over sixty different journal batches, all verified as per the spreadsheets extracted from the old accounts system that we haven't got support on for. It's just up to my big boss to check that the debits and credits on the general ledger postings are the right way round, and that I've got the various postings to the control accounts working correctly. Phew.
While I've been waiting for things to process, I've rediscovered the joys of Mr Driller 2 on the GBA, specifically the Endless Driller mode with just one life on Hard. It really is a superbly balanced puzzle game, with the right blend of risk taking and thoughtful analysis of how the various coloured blocks are going to fall as you tunnel through them. I'm up to 843 metres on one life now, so I may well go back to the 2000 metre Egypt level on Mission Driller mode that has eluded me for three or four years of play.
Kobudo tonight was fun again, although I was slightly stressed having to navigate the narrow back streets of Walkley to drop Jan off at a friend's house on the way. I managed to finish working through the second half of the Sai kata and I've now typed it up on my google docs, with added compass directions as well. If I've worked it out correctly you should end up facing in the same direction as you start, just offset a few metres to the left. Or something.
In other news, I've started a healthy shipping business in my Ikariam game, trading marble for wine (to keep my populace happy), sulphur (for my military research) and crystals for the academics. I think my next research is going to have to be espionage, so I can keep an eye on my fellow islanders, just to be on the safe side.
