Run that by me one more time ...

Apparently, the Archbishop of Canterbury has given a lecture at a university in Cardiff.

'Dr Williams said religion could not be viewed from a scientific point of view because belief in God was unconditional.

"'I believe in the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, subject to further explanation', is not a creed that's prevalent in the Christian world," he said.

He added: "The believer who worships assumes absolutely that God is there and worth attending to."

The implication is that if he assumes that something is true, then it is automatically true and can't be argued with under any circumstances. To make such a claim in a place of study devoted to furthering human knowledge and understanding is simply breathtaking. It is clear that Dr Williams' religion is a moral and intellectual dead end, equivalent to putting a bag over your head and sticking your fingers in your ears and going "La la la, can't hear you!" when confronted with anything that might contradict your world view.
