After nearly eight hours of rapier, infantry sabre (with an hour’s digression into backsword techniques) we were all, to put it mildly, a little tired. We switched from our trusty Huttons to dueling sabres that were about half the weight and moved a lot faster. Add to this a drill that involved nothing more complex than feinting on a particular number of the edge eight parry sequence, and we were all in hysterics in short order as our frazzled brains went into group overload.
This sport just gets better and better … :-)
