It usually takes me a day or two to unwind from work – I was snappy with the kids yesterday and felt like I should be doing something, so I hoovered the floors and cleaned the bathrooms, before wiping out the Cuneo family and seizing control of Hell’s Kitchen. Going out for lunch at the Crown and Cushion for a bacon and brie baguette (with a pint or two of beer) relaxed me even more, to the point of snoozing for half the afternoon.
I have been a little more chilled out today, but I still assigned myself a mini task to complete. I cut the grass, tidied the borders, sucked up the last of the autumn leaves, got the fountain working again and lit a chiminea, so I can now sit down with a cup of rather excellent capuccino coffee and listen to the crackle of wood and the tinkling of water.
A good friday indeed, and it doesn’t involve any gods being nailed to bits of wood to make it so.
