Spring forward

Am I the only person who likes the clocks going forwards? Half the blogs I read have posts complaining about the loss of an hour’s kip. It’s different for me though – I’ve been an hour out of whack since the autumn and the time now fits my inner body clock quite nicely. The only draw back has been changing at least twenty different things with clocks in them and I’ve still got the ones in the microwave and the car to do, and I can’t remember quite how to work either of those. Still, at least all of the various computers in the house have ticked over automagically, and hopefully all of the servers at work will have done so to.

The weekend has been mostly taken up with playing ‘The Godfather’ on the xbox. Very atmospheric and superb use of the movie licence. The fighting model is very satisfying, particularly when you can grab hold of some recalcitrant shop keeper and slam his face into the counter a couple of times until he stumps up his protection money to the Corleone family. The game follows the classic GTA model of scripted story missions and open ended sandbox play, and so I’ve had fun taking over the Va Va Voom club, beating up a rival mobster with a baseball bat and robbing a savings and loan up in midtown before flooring it back to Little Italy in my 1940s jalopy.
